Signs you might be over-committed...

You feel a weird sense of relief when someone cancels plans—and that’s the most free you’ve felt all week?

You’re everyone's go-to person “because you’re so good at it,” which is code for: you’ll do it, even if it ruins you.

You’re constantly thinking: “Once I get through this week, things will calm down.” (You’ve been saying this since 2018.)

Maybe you've tried all the fancy planners, bullet journaling, starting the day with meditation and a glass of lemon water, and whatever else wellness influencers currently swear by

The truth is that you don't need another

productivity hack

to cram more into your already overflowing schedule

You need to be more discerning about what you take on and my "Should You Do This" Checklist can help

Even as a Clinical Psychologist,

I fell for it...

I was running myself ragged to live up to my reputation as a good worker, good mom, good Partner.

Hi, I'm Shannon

By the time I hit my early 30s, I had what most people would call “success.” I earned my Ph.D., got married, and landed a prestigious job as a Clinical Psychology Professor. I was seeing patients, conducting cutting-edge research on treatment for anxiety and depression, and training future therapists. On paper, it looked like I had it all together. But behind the scenes? I was running on fumes.

I was overcommitted, overwhelmed, and constantly chasing the next achievement just to prove I was “enough.”

Then I had a kid. I realized I couldn’t keep up the relentless pace I’d been living—and honestly, I didn’t want to. But everywhere I turned, the messages told me I had to give 100% in every area of my life: work, family, community, self-care (oh, and look fabulous doing it). The more I tried, the deeper into the cult of productive I fell.

That's why I create tools to help women step off the hamster of never-ending commitments

With This Checklist, You'll Learn to...

  • Pause before taking on something new (no more asking yourself "why am I doing this again")

  • Harness the power of your emotions (why a "gut check" works)

  • Consider your capacity (you may have the same 24 hours as Beyonce, but you don't have her entourage)

  • Balance the pros & cons of saying "yes" using key strategies taken from decades of clinical science
