Not to toot my own horn, but... I'm an award-winning clinical psychologist with over 15 years of hands-on experience. I trained at some of the best places around to gain expertise in working with borderline personality disorder (Duke University Medical Center) and anxiety & depression (Boston University).
Now, as an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky, I've received millions of dollars in funding from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to develop and refine cutting-edge treatments.
I believe in real, measurable progress – my clients see improvements in just 12 to 18 sessions (and often start to feel better sooner)
Don't take my word for it, though. Trust the thousands of therapists I've trained in my approaches over the years. I've been invited all over the world give workshops on the methods I've developed and I'm thrilled to be able to offer these evidence-based treatments directly to my own clients
I'm a licensed psychologist in Kentucky. I also have PSYPACT certification. This means I can provide Teletherapy to people in 42 US States!
Laugh (most weeks) and feel comfortable to cry (when you need to)
Tell me what has happened or has been on your mind since our last session
Learn a new strategy (or practice one we've already discussed)
Have homework assigned (if you don't practice skills in your life, you won't see the changes you're looking for.
Be pushed when you're avoiding from your biggest cheerleader (me).
I keep my practice intentionally small because I love forming a deep connection and giving personalized attention. With a limited caseload, I can dedicate my full focus to understanding your unique challenges, tailoring evidence-based treatments to your needs, and ensuring that every session is as impactful as possible. This approach means you’re never just another patient ID number—you get a truly individualized experience where your progress is closely monitored and every detail matters.
Simply reserve your spot by booking an intake session. This initial session is an opportunity for us to discuss your goals, answer any questions you might have, and develop a personalized plan
I work with adults (18+) who are ready for focused, short-term treatment to overcome challenges like anxiety, depression, or symptoms of borderline personality disorder. If you're looking for clear, measurable progress, we might be a great fit.
Most clients see significant improvements within 12 to 18 sessions (and often start to feel relief much sooner). My approach is designed to be efficient and results-driven, so you invest less time overall while achieving lasting change. At the same time, I don't try to limit sessions for clients who want to stay longer. I can offer longer term care depending on your preferences and clinical needs.
Each session is 45 to 50 minutes - a standard length for a therapy session. Clients usually book sessions on a weekly basis at a recurring time for convenience, although I can offer some flexibility to meet your needs.
All services are offered via Telehealth. The good news is that research shows that Telehealth and in-person visits yield the same results (as long as the therapy is evidence-based, you should see improvements). Clients report that they can easily build rapport over zoom, too! You will receive an email 24 hours before each session with the zoom link.
Each session (including the initial intake) is $300. While this may seem like an investment upfront, evidence-based therapy delivered by an expert often leads efficient more sustainable changes relative to generic counseling. I accept payment via credit card and you will be asked to leave a card "on file." Payment will be taken at the time of service.
I am not in-network with any insurance companies. If you have a PPO plan, you may be able to get up to 80% of your fee reimbursed after you meet your deductible (definitely call your insurance company to confirm). I can provide you with a statement, on a monthly basis, that you can submit to your insurance company. I do not accept insurance payments directly.
If you don't show up for an appointment or you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged you full session fee.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based, goal-oriented approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It equips you with practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and depression, empowering you to break negative cycles and make lasting improvements in your daily life.
Evidence-based practice is a treatment approach that blends the latest research, clinical expertise, and your personal values to guide every decision in therapy. In other words, it means the strategies and techniques we use have been rigorously tested in clinical trials and proven effective—ensuring that every session is designed to deliver real, measurable results for you.
My approach is transdiagnostic, meaning it’s effective in addressing a range of emotional challenges simultaneously. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, or the complex symptoms of borderline personality disorder, we’ll develop a plan tailored to your unique needs.
You’ll leave each session with a clear, actionable plan designed to help you apply proven skills to your daily life—transforming insights into real-world change and empowering you to take control of your well-being.
